Cariboo Chilcotin Branch Report 2011

The CCRTA held To Hell With the Bell events in September, three regular lunch meetings and its AGM this year. In addition, a document originally sent to the association by Margaret Sutton was mailed to every CCRTA member. It explained how the Cost of Living Adjustments are calculated and comparing the new EHC plan with the current plan. At the February meeting a speaker discussed typical scams. At the June AGM two speakers discussed the process of self publishing, both through an established publishers and independently.

The CCRTA raised money throughout the year and donated that to food banks in 100 Mile House and Williams Lake. The money was raised in part through donations at the THWTB events and by the sale of donated books. Gifts for children and teens were also collected in early December and donated to families in our area

As usual the CCRTA worked with the local teachers' association to recruit members from those teachers retiring this year.
