Columbia Valley Branch Report 2011

Newly formed, this branch has 23 members and has held two meetings. The first was our initial organizing meeting and the latest was a wine and cheese social with a business meeting held at the home of Joyce McLeod, which was attended by sixteen members and four guests.

Membership was asked to consider projects that might be taken on by the branch and the possibility of implementing a fee, beginning next year.

New retirees have been given a membership package and will be invited to the next meeting. There are plans to have a social brunch on the first day of school, but not a formal meeting as several members will not be available to attend.

Both Linda Madson, secretary, and I found the zone meeting very informative and hope they continue to be held well before the Vancouver meetings.

The branch will send two representatives to the BCRTA Annual General Meeting in September, and hold its own AGM in October.
