Elk Valley Branch Report 2011

THWTB breakfast and AGM was held in September, using BCRTA champagne funds for the new retirees. 

The President and one member attended the BCRTA delegate’s day and AGM.

The Branch put forward a motion regarding how inflation adjustments are applied to Pensions at the 2010 BCRTA Annual General Meeting. The motion was referred to the Pensions and Benefits Committee of the BCRTA for investigation, with a report back to the 2011 AGM. Two general meetings were held to discuss issues.
 
The President attended the third Zone meeting in Creston.

The Branch Newsletter was continued.

Two presentations were made to the Fernie District Teachers’ Association.

The two blackboard displays produced in phases one and two of the Heritage Committee’s Project were on exhibit at the Natal-Michel-Sparwood Historical Museum for four months. They are currently on display at the Fernie District Teachers’ Association office in Fernie. The committee is working on the third and final phase of their continuing project.

The President participated in the Review Commission’s deliberations.

BCRTA and other information was shared through mailed updates and electronically, with members who are online by email and our link on the FDTA website.
