Heritage Committee Report

BCRTA Heritage Report from the January 26 meeting.

Our meeting was very short. The president of the BCRTA, Sheila Pither sent out letters to School District Superintendents asking them to incorporate into their policy manuals a statement of support of the preservation of educational heritage within their school districts. The six districts that have policies were not written to. We had oneresponding letter from School District 46 (Sunshine Coast) sending us their policy. If your district is one of the 52 without a policy in place, you might begin to lobby for such a policy.

We have $8500.00 remaining of our grant money and have no requests for the money at this time.

The whole committee will visit the Richmond Heritage site on the afternoon of April 27th.

Currently the members of the committee are updating the history of the BCRTA committees from 1999 to present.
