RULES AND PROCEDURES

• The goal of the recruitment plan is to attract 800 new members.  It will commence May 1, 2010
• A BCRTA member (referral member) who recruits a new BCRTA member will need to fill in the Referring Member ticket information and have the new member fill in the New member ticket. New members applying in July and August will have their fee deducted automatically from their pension. New members applying in May and June 2010 and from September 2010 to June 2011 will need to send their membership fee by cheque. The New Member then sends both tickets, a cheque (if necessary) and the completed BCRTA membership application to the BCRTA, 100-550 W 6th Ave, Van, BC. V5Z 4P2
 These tickets are available in the Postscript, via email to pat@bcrta.com or on the website www.bcrta.ca
• New members who have not been recruited will be entered in the draw.
• Lapsed members are eligible if they have not been a member for at least 2 years.
• The tickets of the winners of the Winter draw will not be entered in the Spring draw.

BCRTA Membership Committee Update Jan. 2010

1) The BCRTA has a new Branch.  Welcome to Mission, the 44th branch.  Congratulation and thanks to President, Bill Elliot for all his hard work to make this happen.

2) Recruiting Branch members:

            a)  Since The Dogwood Recruitment Rewards initiative started on May 1st,  671 new members have joined the BCRTA.    A letter has been sent to those new BCRTA members who did not join a branch.   This letter invites them to join a branch, stresses the benefits and outlines the process.   A similar letter will be printed in the Postscript so that other non-branch members will be encouraged to join a branch.

            b)  Branch Presidents are able to request, from the BCRTA office, a listing of BCRTA members who live in their area.   Some in the list may already be members of other branches as a member may join as many branches as they wish just by paying the additional branch fee.   This is another tool available to increase branch membership.  The Champagne Campaign is still in effect and the top 3 branches that increase their membership either by the greatest percentage or number will be rewarded at the BCRTA AGM in September.  Cheers!
