BCRTA FAQ

Q1  Why should I join BCTRA ?

The B.C. Retired Teachers' Association was incorporated as a Society in 1955 with its main objective "to guard the interests and to promote the welfare of its members".Through the efforts of many dedicated people and its large membership, the Association has grown to be a large influential organization acting on your behalf. The BCRTA replaces the professional association which served the same interests as those of the years before retirement.

Q2  What does it cost to join BCTRA ?

The annual BCRTA fee, currently $35, is determined at the Annual General Meeting. Branch fees are determined at the Branch AGM. They can be found on the application form on our membership page. The membership year is from July 1 to June 30.
If you are receiving a pension from the BC Teachers' Pension Plan or College Pension Plan, your fees will be deducted from your September pension.
If you are not receiving a pension from one of these plans, please send a cheque or money order for your provincial and branch fees by June 30 of each year to the BCRTA provincial office.

Q3  How do I get a copy of the 'Postscript' print newsletter? and how much does it cost?

With your BCRTA membership you will receive four newsletters per year to keep you informed on items of current interest and concern: pension, medical, and dental information; travel opportunities and experiences; and other articles of general interest.
If you are having problems getting your copy contact the BCRTA office.

Q4  How do I send photographs for the members photo album?
