Note: this is not a workshop on how the pension plans work.
This 2-3 hour workshop is co-sponsored by your local Association and the BC Retired Teachers’ Association, and is facilitated by two trained retired teachers from your area.

The pension seminars offered by the Pension Corporation provides essential information about the pensions that teachers can expect to receive and the choices that must be made to achieve the optimum financial arrangement for each retiring educator.

But there are two basic questions that must be answered when any individual is thinking about retirement:
Can I afford to retire?
AND
Am I ready to retire?
Hence the title of our workshop THERE’S MORE TO IT THAN MONEY.
Teachers need to consider the second question just as carefully as they consider the financial implications of retirement. We want to direct their attention to the many factors that go into the fashioning of a future that is a truly rewarding. We are convinced that the need is there.

 

The BC Retired Teachers’ Association has developed a workshop for those of you about to retire.

As you know, the Pension Corporation conducts seminars all around the province. It is our intention to follow a similar schedule, with our workshop occurring three or four weeks after the seminar. If you don’t happen to have a Pension Corporation pension seminar in your community we are still willing to facilitate our workshop for your members.
